Kate Mara stops by TheFindGreen at Sundance

Kate Mara was in town to promote her film, Transsiberian (also starring Emily Mortimer and and Sir Ben Kingsley, who had stopped by TheFindGreen lounge earlier in the day).   She was radiant in red, and she checked out TheFindGreen!

HAT HEAD'S IN FASHION

Trendwatching in Sundance is so amusing because it's so separate
from the mainstream fashion axis of New York, L.A., London, Milan and Paris.
Each of those cities has a distinct "look" that celebrities and well-heeled
travelers adhere to when they arrive in said destination.

We've talked about Sundance's amazing and myriad style boots.
Today, let's talk about hats. We've seen knit cap beanie styles, mens'
fedoras on women, shearling and fur lined floppies, and Aviator styles with
flaps to keep ones' ears from ringing and reddening in the cold. There are
even Heidi knit styles that have either woolly braids – or woolly
dreadlocks – depending on how you look at it. The ubiquitous berets of New
York and L.A.are nowhere to be seen at Sundance – they're just not warm
enough.

My hat's off goes to Mischa Barton, who went from a black and
Fedora brown fedora she bought at Barneys in LA, to a handknit organic cotton Zola2 tweed hat by L.A. based Kathy Poncher. Check out Mischa in that tall topper. And fedoras on ladies aren't just for the snow – you can rock this boyish bauble through spring. Go to TheFind.com and type in, "Womens fedoras," and
all varieties will come up. Killer Hats has them in felt for $22.00. Windy City Novelties has a red felt fedora for $24. Baron Hats has a dress weight wool felt look with grosgrain detail for $49. And if you want a more deluxe model, try Peruvian Connection for styles that range from $79 to $269 that your boyfriend will covet and no doubt wear.

Beanie But the wool beanie look is tres wooly chic – just ask Marcia Gay Harden, who donned a latte colored one, or Mischa in her tweedy version. Mischa's Zola hat can be had at zolahats.com –in wool that's bejeweled, or the basic cotton version. If you go on TheFind.com and type in "Womens beanie hats," dogfunk offers you a Dakine stormy beanie with a cable design for &29.95. Paul Frank offers a pink and red Julius version with pom poms for &10..95 at Karmaloop. And there's a cute turquoise version for $24.95 at Boardtactics.

Fur_floppy_hat For fur-lined floppies, two sites on TheFind (type in "fur-lined
floppy hats
") have great varieties: e4hats has faux fur bucket hats in black, camel and cream, and dogfunk has a "mcklusky hat" with ear flaps that even Amelia Earhart would have loved to fly high in. These are great buys for next year's Sundance – or any sojourn into the cold and the mountains.

Of course, some photo conscious celebs: Sarah Jessica
Parker, Emily Blunt, Jodie Foster, Charlize Theron, Paris Hilton, Meg Ryan
and Felicity Huffman – didn't don any toppers. These ladies sported either
stick straight sheets of hair or bouncing barrel waves. But that's because
they were traveling with their hairdressers - or they popped into the
Sephora hair and makeup station at the top floor of The Kevin Mazur
Celebrity Portrait Studio
, where TheFindGreen suite was located. It's
amazing what a curling iron or a styling straight iron from Sephora can do
in a few minutes. Don't leave home without them. Type in :"Sephora hair
irons
:" and grab yourself the ghd (it stands for "good hair day") styling
iron (with bend, so you don't get dead flat hair) for $195 at Sephora. In
the portrait studio, Sephora makeup artist Vanessa Dunn did touch ups on
many female – and male –celebs who came through this week. What were the hit
picks from Sephora at Sundance? Sephora's repair lip balm with SPF, that
covers lips, knees and elbows for extra dry skin. Sephora lipglosses were
also super popular, with shea butter in Golden Glow and Bronze Beauty. Also
necessary in the snowy glare was Sephora's plumping mascara which lengthens
and plumps and volumizes – but so were the Sephora and Makeup Forever
lashes, which Vanessa brought hundreds of – and was left with nary a pair to
be found.

And all of our Sundance efforts this week could not have been
possible without the finesse of Tim Hurley of Vox Entertainment, who
produced not only the Kevin Mazur Portrait Studio, but the St. Ives Lounge
and the premiere party of "Sleepwalking," the John Legend concert and events at Tao, Harry O's and Marquis. Tim – you are simply amazing.

THE CLICK AT SUNDANCE 1/22

The reason it's more fun to stargaze at Sundance than any red
carpet or fancy fest like Cannes is that stars are so underdressed –but of
course, being stars, they underdress better than most people. Jodie Foster,
dining at the Stein Erickson ski lodge on Monday night, in jeans and a
thermal t shirt and no makeup, was so undone, she was barely recognizable.

The one common thread in the snowy hills and climate of Park City
Utah is boots – there's been snow off and on –mostly on – and even getting
out of an four wheel drive SUV requires good traction. Plus, there is the
look of leggings or very skinny jeans tucked into tall tough looking boots:
motorcycle with multiple straps, fur lined boots, suede, fringed – boot
watching is a favorite Sundance sport.

Button_boots Sanaa Lathan, promoting the movie version of "A Raisin in the Sun," (with Sean Combs, who sat cooperatively in TheFindGreen suite –and you'd barely know it was him – except for the very large bodyguards), rocked some serious Fendi black suede and patent trimmed boots with gold buttons over black tights and a white satin dress with a black parka. If you type in BLACK FENDI BOOTS on TheFind.com, you'll find them at Barneys (Fendi button knee suede boots, $795 at Barneys) –but you'll also find some other awesome looking ones from Fendi: a Fendi Tobacco vinyl lace detail book from Bluefly
for $676; a smocked Fendi suede book for $519 at Net a Porter, and the
leather version of Sanaa's gold button Fendi boot for $664 at Neimans under
Tall Platform Boots with buttons.

Sarah Jessica Parker, promoting her new movie "Smart People,"
donned a more practical functional motorcycle version from Italian company
Fiorentini & Baker. If you type "Fiorentini & Baker" in the FIND function
line, a bevy of leathery sturdy beauties come up: the classic weathered
motorcycle boot that SJP trudged around in is $485 at Barneys New York, a
much lighter tan motorcylcle style called called Eternity is $525 at
Madison, and Yoox has a platformed style for only $214.

Lots of female celebs have gone with the much-less expensive
versions, without sacrificing any style or unique-ness.. There are plenty of
bargain boots to be spied late at night at Harry O's worth coveting , even
Steve_boots during acts like Akon and Maroon Five playing to overstuffed crowds, or while Patti Smith and Train lead singer Pat Monahan play smaller gigs on Main St, at 6 in the evening time slots. We've noticed a lot of great Steve Madden pairs in and out of the Java Cow and Park City Chocolate Shop: Bijou Phillips was promoting the movie "Choke" (that also stars Anjelica Huston ) in Steve Madden's "Cassey" tall boots for $258.95 at Nordstroms. Other great looking SM models are the "Latcch" boot in cognac or brown, that buckles in all different directions, for $138 at Cotton Island. There is also a tall
ranch suede number for $144 from Berkshoes, and the fuzziest Sundance boots I've seen are the fuzzy Eskimo boots in white, natural and black are only
$19.99 – get all three for next year's fest!!! – from Caboulet.com.

And of course, The Uggs just keep on coming –tall, short,
furlined or suede. The crochet knit style looks like a little sweater on
tootsies. And there are other ways to show off them: Patti Smith (promoting
her documentary directed by fashion photog Steven Sebring) had pale grey
socks under her short brown boots –with the grey socks pulled over her
jeans, giving them an almost harem rounded edge. Hey – she's not a style
icon for nothing. - MG

The Click at Sundance: It's a Slippery Slope - Day 4

Nature doesn’t care if it’s the height of the Sundance Film Festival – a blanket of fresh white powder hit the streets of Park City today, delighting the skiers, and causing celebs, pr reps, managers, producers and directors alike to slosh up the hills of Main Street, nearly toppling their soy lattes. Good thing Ugg Boots have good traction –even the new “Sandra” and “Felicity” styles with wedge heels.

Of course, the snow hasn’t put a damper on any of the evening activities. On Sunday night, Self Magazine co-hosted a party with The Harmony Project at the Park City Resort up in the mountains near the slopes – Moby performed, and Oliver Stone showed up, amongst others, to hear him breakout tunes from his upcoming release– and there were also those gettings massages and makeup by Origins- all in the same room! (It sounds weirder than it was.). Paris Hilton partied at Harry O’s, where Velvet Revolver got on stage – and how could Paris restrain herself from popping up there with them for all to see? Later on, the bobbed blond thrillseeker was spotted riding a ripping inner tube downhill on Main Street –then running up that hill again in high heels. There are triathalon athletes who couldn’t pull off that feat of snow sporting – particularly not in Sergio Rossi’s.

First stop on Day Four at Sundance was a visit from mogul/producer Ted Leonsis, vice chairman of AOL and producer of the Sundance movie “Kicking It.” It was interesting mixing a bit of Silicon Valley with all this Hollywood hoopla. Lauren Graham and Matthew Perry arrived next, promoting a movie called “Birds of America,” about preppy siblings, directed by “Prelude to a Kiss’s” Craig Lucas..Since Perry and Graham are old friends, they hammed it up together for an interview with People Magazine. “It’s sisterly love,” Graham noted. Perry, meanwhile, was confused about Sundance footwear. “I was wearing Converse when I got here yesterday, and today I’m wearing boots with laces – at least I’ve figured
something out."

The cast and conceivers of “In Prison My Whole,” Livia and Colin Firth, came by – and we were shocked and pleasantly surprised to learn that Mrs. Firth is as lovely and elegant as her husband. The stunning Italian was particularly excited to hear about and look at TheFindGreen, as she told us, “I’m putting my producing career on hold to go into retail” –she will open one of London’s only environmental retail outlets.  Asked what it’s like to be married to a dreamboat, she quickly retorted, “You should ask Colin what it’s like to be married to ME!” She also wanted us to know about a new jewelry line in Britain called Fifi Bijoux, that is one of the first ethical and ecological lines of jewelry, imagined down to the mines the stones came out of.

Producerl_todd_15326591_400

Then, what happened next was sort of like an astrological confluence of the stars: David Arquette came by from “Hamlet2” with Steve Coogan, and Elizabeth Shue – Coogan bringing along girlfriend and L.A. socialite (and daughter of Michael Chow) China Chow. But at the exact same moment, the cast of “Downloading Nancy” – Maria Bello, Jason Patric, Rufus Sewell and Amy Brenneman charged in –and Brenneman brought super-publicist Stephen Huvane (pr for Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Anison, Demi Moore), showing up at the same time as super manager Jason Weinberg (Penelope Cruz, Naomi Watts, Hilary Swank, Demi Moore, Lindsay Lohan, Ashton Kutcher). They could have put together the cast and crew for “Gone With The Wind II” out of this group. “It’s the first time I’ve ever been here,” China Chow told us, in an Erin Featherston white wool hat. “I’ve never seen snow like this in my
life.”

When Amy Brenneman saw pals Maria Bello and Elisabeth Shue, there was a big trio of hugs going on. All the actors from both films convened on the couch, eating cookies and telling stories to each other. Jason Patric wanted to learn about TheFindGreen’s ecological products –and also wanted a recycled cashmere scarf – “cause I radically undressed."

Last but not least,

Mischa Barton did a stint for her movie “Assasination of a High School President.” Very blonde and wearing a top hat from Barneys, she told us, “The reason I’m so blond is that I just finished this movie ‘Homecoming,” and I haven’t been able to change my haircolor back yet!” She’ll be at Sundance for a day, then go home to L.A. to celebrate her birthday on Thursday, Jan 22. – while we’ll be here, hard at work at Sundance, with – well, the only part of Hollywood that’s still working. – MG

Sundance Update - Sarah Jessica Parker and more...Day 3

The divine Sarah Jessica Parker came by  TheFindGreen’s eco-stop on Sunday with the rest of the cast of her new Miramax movie, “Smart People” – Dennis Quaid and Thomas Haden Church, which will open in April. Ellen Page is in the movie, too, but she’s still on the road promoting “Juno” – which has now made over seventy million dollars in wide release.

SJP’s pr asked that she NOT be asked about the summer’s sure-to-be blockbuster “Sex and the City” movie, which it seems journalists are rabid to know about. “It’s really flattering,” laughed SJP, in her Fiorentini and Baker motorcycle boots, and the Sundance uniform of dark leggings, parka and big sunglasses. “But ‘Smart People’ is a great movie, too, and it’s not like I ever only play one character.” “I can confirm that,” noted Quaid, whose character, a down on his luck professor, falls for SJP’s emergency room doctor in the movie. “Sarah Jessica is NOT Carrie Bradshaw. It just proves what a good actress she is. America is  convinced she’s a hard partying fashion star. She might be a fashion star,     but she’s a serious mom and actress.”

“’Smart People’ is about well-educated people who are not at all good at matters of the heart,” SJP told us. “And I do think that smart people tend to complicate things sometimes. Or at least, women do.” “Yeah, men don’t do that,” laughed Quaid. “We’re really very simple. We just need our basic needs to be met.”

SJP’s hair was darker than usual, and ironed flat and superstraight, by hairdresser to the stars David Babaii, who was accompanying her on her promotional trip. “I just shot my new L’Oreal Commercial,” noted SJP, “and when I do that, my color always changes - a little or a lot.     It’s always a fun experiment!”

Speaking of hair products, David Babaii is about to launch a new line of green and ecologically correct hair products with client Kate Hudson, called “David Babaii for Wild Aid” in  March. (You can read more at info@davidbabaiiforwildaid.com).   They are free of sulfates, animal products, and are a luxurious blend of natural ingredients that still smell amazing. “I am very attracted to delicious smells,” Hudson told me in a recent interview, “so if I was going to promote a product, it had to be good for the environment, good for my hair, and it had to smell yum. And it does.”

Adrien Grenier visited the Studio to play "Guitar Hero" on the showcased Nintendo Wii's with photog Kevin Mazur, who had just shot his portrait. They rocked out to  Cream’s “Sunshine of Your Love” – which was pretty amusing, because Grenier actually plays guitar and sings in a band named The Honey Brothers, which played on Sunday afternoon at a Sundance lounge on Main Street. Meanwhile, he used whatever non-jamming moments to promote his  new indie movie “Adventures of Power,” in which he plays a daydreaming  drummer – or more correctly, “an air drummer who dreams of being the world’s greatest air drummer,” he told us. Grenier, one of the most eco-minded celebs in Hollywood, checked out TheFindGreen’s eco-search engine, and will no doubt be shopping on there for his L.A. home – “and everything else,” he said.

You can see the celebs starting to slow down on  Sunday – perhaps that’s because of several nights of late night partying.   Saturday night’s late late party at the Park City Yoga Studio hosted Paris Hilton, Jason Patric, Eliza Dushku, Armande Assante, The Black Eyed Pea’s Will I Am, and Maria Bello. “A hangover is just part of the Sundance experience,” actress Emily Mortimer told us.

After promoting movies all day to outlets like  People, Entertainment Weekly, CNN and Variety, they dine at La Terrigo on     Main St (we spotted “Nip Tuck’s” Dylan Walsh there), Chimayo and even     something called The Pizza Joint, where we spotted Maria Bello and her  supermanager John Carrabino, dining on slices. “It’s good to slowdown a  little,” said Carrabino. “The festival is total adrenaline.”

Mena Suvari stopped in the suite to promote “Mysteries of Pittsburgh,” an all-sold out movie at Sundance, based  on Michael Chabon’s famed book, while the movies with the big buzz remain U2’s 3D movie – the fest’s mega hot ticket – and the doc “Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired,” which HBO purchased today. Young hot actors Michelle Morgan (“Diary of the Dead”), Ben Foster (“Mysteries of Pittsburgh”), and the cast of “American Teen” also  visited TheFindGreen’s locale on Sunday.

And what’s the best pick me up at the festival that’s keeping everybody going? Izzy’s Pomegranate fizzy soda, which everybody’s living on. Nothing like a little free radical protection with your carbonation. – MG

The Click at Sundance: The Icemen Cometh - To Visit - Day 2

Hey, friends of TheFindGreen  - I'm here at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City to tell you that you are in VERY good company: we found out today just HOW many eco-conscious celebs love the site and all the green goods – including our gifts - the recycled cashmere scarf by Burning Torch, and the hand-knit cotton ski hat by Zola2. “Free stuff is good,” said veteran actor William Hurt. “Green ecologically-correct free stuff is much, much better.”
We started the day after the requisite visit to Java Cow for a six dollar latte (and worth EVERY penny) by meeting Sir Ben Kingsley - who visited the Nintendo/People Magazine/Kevin Mazur portrait studio and Sundance home of TheFindGreen.com – to promote a new indie called “Wackness” that’s looking for a distribution deal up at the festival. Kingsley, in a long leather and shearling coat to the floor, might be the best dressed man at the fest; maybe because he’s got two movies here- the other being “Transsiberian,” with Woody Harrelson and Emily Mortimer. “I hope my coat is ecologically correct,” laughed Sir Ben. “My wife picked it out for me.”
Amy Redford –yes, she’s the daughter of THAT Redford – has directed a film called “The Guitar,” starring English actress Saffron Burrows as a woman diagnosed with two months to live who maxes out her credit cards and learns how to play guitar. Saffron, in the Sundance uniform of skinny leggings, oversized sweater and tall boots, made sure Amy Redford got a Zola2 hat because “her dad would approve if it’s environmentally friendly.”
Famed photographer Timothy Greenfield-Sanders and equally famed journalist Elvis Mitchell (former NY Times film critic and NPR correspondent) collaborated on a new doc called “The Black List,” featuring Kareem Abdul Jabbar and Toni Morrison - and sold their film to HBO which will air it in the fall. “I always hated the idea of ‘a black list’ when I was a kid,” said Mitchell, “and that’s what encouraged me to do the movie. Soon, I’ll go back to journalism and then I’ll be obscure again.” They were making the Sundance rounds with NY indie film publicist, Jeremy Walker, who gave us a hot tip: “One of the hot documentaries is ‘Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired,’ he told us. “Look out for it.”
Several young actors made appearances, who are names to look out for in the next year: Kristen Stewart (“Yellow Handkerchief” and “What Just Happened” with Robert DeNiro), Melonie Diaz (“Be Kind Rewind” with Jack Black), and Kate Mara, who’s in “Transsiberian” with Woody Harrelson and Emily Mortimer, who was dressed only in leggings and a thin Prada red cotton jacket and a grey Bottega woven bag.. “I’m just getting in and out of a car,” she said. When she bumped into Prada’s West Coast rep Celine Khavarani, she squealed with delight.
The cast of “Yellow Handkerchief” – William Hurt and Maria Bello, were next to have their portraits shot. Bello, who has three movies at the fest, just returned to Los Angeles after shooting the sequel to “The Mummy” overseas for seven months. In a MaxMara Sportmax white long sheepskin coat “which I bought at  Decades II in L.A. years ago”), Bello brought along her boyfriend Bryn Mooser, an L.A. musician and writer, and might be the busiest actress at the festival. Her co-star, William Hurt, was happy to stay and talk environmental issues with TheFindGreen.com, calling “Michael Clayton” his favorite movie of the year, because "I like movies with a conscience,” and saying, “I want my kids to know about TheFindGreen. Are there any hemp clothes on there? I’ve been trying to find alternative fabrics and recycled materials for years.’
Two seriously  amazing talented Brit actresses came in to pose for Mazur and People Magazine: Emily Blunt, who attended two premiers in one night on Friday night – “Sunshine Cleaning” with Amy Adams, and “The Great Buck Howard” with Colin Hanks – said breathlessly, “I’m doing a whirlwind Sundance go-round for 48 hours – and I just wrapped a historical movie, ‘Young Victoria’ – and now I’m going on tour with my boyfriend Michael (Buble), for a much needed break. Because in a few months, I’m starting a Universal movie called “The Wolf Man” with Anthony Hopkins and Benecio del Toro – so I haven’t had a lot of down time. But I’m not complaining – I’m thrilled to be working so much.”
The other was the divine Tilda Swinton, who is at Sundance promoting “Derek,” a doc about the late director Derek Jarmon, who discovered her. Sweeping in with her carrot-colored hair, a deep jade green Prada coat and spring’s ultra-IT bag, the Prada white and scrolled “Wallpaper” print bag (that won’t be in a store for many months, and already has a waiting list), she made for a rather dramatic figure.. “Miuccia Prada sent it to be,” she admitted. “And I like wearing the clothes of intellectual designers.” Meanwhile, she’s in the midst of shooting two movies with Brad Pitt: David Fincher’s “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” and “Burn After Reading” – and look for her name to be called Tuesday morning when the Oscar nominations are announced, for best supporing actress in “Michael Clayton.”
And there is fashion aplenty loose at Sundance this week. Seven For All Mankind hosted a party with Jason Reitman on Friday night; Coach bags and boots and Hugo Boss have their own swag suites; Harrison and Shriftman pr is dressing multitudes of celebs in Ugg Australia’s newest boot styles: “Sandra” and “Felicity,” suede platform boots lined with fur that, unrolled, come up to the knee –and “Nightfall,”a flatter fur-trimmed style.  Naomi Watts will be wearing them when she arrives in Park City – and Brittany Murphy and Maria Bello won’t take theirs off. “They are beyond comfy,” Murphy told us. Alice & Olivia’s founder and designer Stacey Bendet popped in, telling us she’s in Sundance with her boyfriend Eric Eisner, who just made a movie called “Hamlet II” with Steve Koogan.
Jack Black, blond – but with a brown beard – stopped by in a six-pack photo-t shirt and “Be Kind Rewind” castmate Danny Glover and director Michel Gondry, who also directed “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” and “The Science of Sleep.” Black was happy to pose with TheFindGreen’s giftbag, noting, “Green is the new Black – anyway, I love free stuff.” Most actors – particularly ones working the Sundance promo circuit do- but not Randy Quaid, who was promoting “Real Time.” “I’m not taking any free stuff!” he said. Meanwhile, most actors and actresses were toting around giant swag bags from the Fred Segal gift house at the Lift, and from Kari Feinstein’s gifting suite, which was giving out Reeboks.
Emily Mortimer from “Transsiberians” wasn’t up for hot chocolate, coffee or playing Nintendo Wii in the suite – “Truth be told,” she said, “I was up drinking late into the night, because you arrive in Sundance and you have to party. And now I’ve got a terrible hangover!”
No doubt, she could have used a boost from Eboost, a new fizzy product to add to your water or juice. Created by film and Broadway producer Liz Heller, who dropped them off at TheFindGreen’s H.Q., there the perfect product to keep one going day –and day – at a film festival. Particularly one in very high altitudes, where alcohol seems three times as potent. They will all need it tomorrow, after tonight’s big Motorola party. – MG

THE CLICK AT SUNDANCE -- DAY ONE January 18, 2008

Greetings, Finders! I am blogging to you live from the Sundance Film Festival where TheFindGreen is sponsoring a house right on Main Street in Park City – ground zero for Sundance action – with Nintendo Wii and the Kevin Mazur Photo Studio.

It is absolutely FREEZING here in Utah –no evidence of global warming here – but that doesn't mean these hilly streets aren't lined with celebrities, more arriving by the minute. It just means they're wearing multi-layers and sipping coffee from the Java Cow across the street, the place where Sundancers refuel on ALMOOND JOY lattes, a combo of chocolate, caramel, coconut and coffee. If the caffeine doesn't get you going, the sugar will. But don't think L.A.-based celebs aren't ready for the single digit temperatures –Maria Bello had Chanel send her a Chanel ski parka to wear, and Jessica Alba got high boots by Sergio Rossi to warm up her tootsies.

Celebs are popping in to try out the new Nintendo virtual games – Donovan Leitch and wife Kirsti Hume really loved the virtual skiing game, while their little tow-headed daughter Violet jumped into the house's storefront window and did a little virtual skiing of her own, as half of the movie's indie business passed by on the way to screenings.

"Entourage's" Rex Lee stopped by for a little gaming, and picked up TheFindGreen's giftbag of a hat by Kathy Ponchor for Zola2 in a hundred percent cotton, and a recycled cashmere scarf by hot L.A. label Burning Torch. As to when "Entourage" might be returning this summer, well – don't bet on it being back in June, as usual. "Because of the WGA strike, we probably won't begin shooting in late February like we usually do," Lee noted. "So we're in the dark, just like everybody else. Our writers are the most important part of our show." I say: a summer without "Entourage" is like a summer without iced tea. Sounds like the political conventions might be the big event in tv this summer.

"Blind Date's" Stanley Tucci and Patricia Clarkson came by to have their portraits taken by Kevin Mazur for People Magazine. Tucci co-write and directed this movie, a remake of a Dutch film by Theo Van Gogh, in which he and Clarkson play a husband and wife who have suffered a huge loss, and have to go back to dating – via extreme role playing – to relate to each other. "You know, it's not 'The Devil Wears Prada,'" laughed Tucci. "It's a serious adult film that is also a little funny – a little." He's hoping to find a distributor for it at Sundance, which is also ground zero for indie distributors. Clarkson, in a North Face parka, loved her recycled cashmere scarf by Burning Torch. "It's softer than cashmere and more ecological correct," she said. "That's a very good combo."

Actress Brittany Murphy came over for the hot chocolate with her filmmaker husband Simon Monjack ("Factory Girl," who was shooting portraits himself, for Amnesty International, across the street. She was wearing a cream parent Burberry quilted handbag and a black sheared lamb coat with leather piping from Bally that "my husband bought for me. No animal had to die for this coat, so it's environmentally correct, which makes me really happy!"

Michael Keaton, who barely took his Ipod off his ears (maybe the mike acted like ear muffs), was promoting one of Sundance's most anticipated movies, called "The Merry Gentleman" –but he's also in town for a different reason: his son, Sean Douglas, is playing with band The Hatch at the Hollywood Life House across the street. Keaton's real last name is Douglas, but he had to change it because Michael Douglas got there first.

Upstairs at the Ninendo House – with TheFindGreen – is a makeup and hair room manned with NY based hairstylist Craig Carter, who was using ghd products from Sephora to put the shine back into mountain air dried out hair – and Vanessa Dunn of the Sephora Pro Beauty team, putting Sephora lashes onto Sundancers planning on partying on into the night.

I'll write more tomorrow from our vantage point – in the meantime, I'm off to the Gen Art/Seven Jeans party hosted by Jason Reitman for young filmmakers. Then maybe I'll stop at Harry O's to hear Maroon Five later. Or maybe I'll –, well, who knows? There's like seven other events – and that's just tonight. – Merle Ginsberg
