Merle Ginsberg is a bestselling author and internationally-renowned fashion, culture and entertainment journalist. Her career as a highly sought-after magazine, newspaper editor and writer led to her being named Editor-in-Chief of GenLux Magazine in 2007. Genlux Magazine, a glossy fashion, shopping and beauty magazine, is considered L.A.'s best-designed fashion publication.
Ginsberg's twelve-year tenure as Entertainment Editor of W Magazine and Women's Wear Daily, gave her an opportunity to witness Hollywood's inner workings from a unique perspective. For the past three years, Ginsberg has also been a Contributing Editor for Harper's Bazaar, to which she contributes interviews with actresses, lifestyle pieces and humorous fashion essays. In 2005, she served in Bazaar's NY headquarters as the magazine's Entertainment Director, where she booked and subsequently wrote many of the celebrity covers. Ginsberg also covers fashion and style for IMG's Daily Mini, the official publication of NY and LA fashion weeks and its website, Fashionweekdaily.com.
Ginsberg serves as a contributor to The London Times Style Magazine, Autore Magazine, Blackbook Magazine, C Magazine in California, Town and Country Travel, Angeleno, Ladies Home Journal, and UK Glamour, as well as the international editions of Cosmopolitan and Harper's Bazaar. She has had fashion and style articles published in the Neiman Marcus catalogue, Fashions of the Times from the New York Times, People Magazine, People Daily (during the Oscars and Emmys), V Life, In Style, Marie Claire (and its UK and Asian subsidiaries), Elle Décor, Seventeen Magazine, Ladies Home Journal, Organic Style, Movieline's Hollywood Life and L.A. Confidential.
Ginsberg is also a regular on the lecture circuit, having delivered speeches for Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, Burberry and MAC Cosmetics. She maintains an ongoing television presence as a frequent commentator on celebrity, pop culture and fashion for Entertainment Tonight, The Today Show, E!, Style Channel, MSNBC, CNN and VH1. She has interviewed Hollywood's elite including Tom Cruise, Julia Roberts, Renee Zellwegger, Hugh Grant, Ed Harris, Russell Crowe, Gwyneth Paltrow, Cate Blanchett, Anthony Hopkins, Billy Bob Thornton, Kevin Spacey, and has covered the underbelly of Hollywood awards season fashion for Women's Wear Daily, as well as its social coverage of celebrities, socialites, charity balls and fashion designers. Her first book, "Confessions of an Heiress: A Tongue in Chic Peak Behind the Pose" with Paris Hilton, was published by Simon and Schuster in September of 2005, and became an instant New York Times, Wall St. Journal and Los Angeles Times bestseller. The paperback, released in the summer of 2006, is also a New York Times bestseller. Ginsberg's most recent book, "Hip Hollywood Homes," a coffee table book for Random House, was published September of 2006.
She is currently working on a new book with Joan Rivers about men and beauty.
